Performance
without interference.
I work with senior leaders who want to perform with real clarity when the pressure is highest - and with thought-leaders who want their best ideas backed by the right publisher, not just any publisher.
The interference looks different in each case. The work is the same.
I'm Ben Slight - executive coach, publishing strategist, and programme director for senior leadership team development. I've spent my career helping senior people perform under pressure - in the boardroom, in the dojo and on the page.
The people I work with
They're already operating at a high level. Founders, senior leaders, consultants and speakers who have built something real and know what they're capable of - yet who have a sense that there's still a gap between that capability and how it's showing up.
The work we do is about closing that gap.
For leaders & founders
The Leader Advantage –
Coaching to master your inner game
You're responsible for results and people and decisions that genuinely count. Externally, things look fine. Internally, there's often a version of: too much in your head, not enough clarity in the moment, a sense that something needs to shift without being exactly sure what.
That's where this work begins.
For consultants, speakers & thought-leaders
The Business Author Advantage –
Your breakthrough business book
You've spent years developing a point of view, a method, a way of seeing the world that others find genuinely valuable. A serious book with a major publisher would put that into the world properly — and make your business and legacy stronger in the process.
The challenge is navigating the gap between having the idea and a book that fulfils its potential.
Why work with me
I've spent my career on both sides of the conversations that matter most for the people I work with.
At Performance Consultants — Sir John Whitmore's company — I supported coaching and leadership programmes for thousands of leaders in organisations including Johnson & Johnson, Collins Aerospace, Louis Vuitton and Allianz. I trained in the Inner Game directly with Tim Gallwey's team while working with them on multiple projects. I've led commercial teams, managed culture-change projects across large multinationals, and directed coaching programmes for senior leadership teams.
In publishing, I worked inside boutique and major houses on some of the best-known titles in business and personal development — including Coaching for Performance — and I understand how all the key people think, from editorial to sales to translation rights, and where most authors lose the deal before it ever gets to offer stage.
Outside both, I hold a black belt in Jeet Kune Do — Bruce Lee's martial art — and train and teach weekly. It's where I keep testing the philosophy I bring to the room: that high performance is mostly about the inner game.
The combination isn't accidental. The aim, whether we're in a coaching session or building a book proposal, is always the same: to help you close the gap between what you're capable of and how it's currently showing up.

Authors, publishers & thought-leaders
“I was writing my book with a knot in my stomach. I didn’t want to self-publish, but I had no real chance of getting a publisher interested in me, since I didn’t have many followers and hadn’t published anything yet.
Then I met Ben, and he helped me understand what I did have. Now my book is being published by Hachette.
That’s how powerful working with Ben is!”
Bruna De Palo PCC,
Neuroscience-Based Executive & Team Coach, Author of The Brain Instruction Manual for Leaders
“Ben brings rare fluency in both the creative and commercial sides of book publishing. He understands what it takes to position ideas clearly, engage the right collaborators, and navigate the complexities of contracts, design, publicity, and international editions. His publishing industry contacts and insight into how ideas gain traction make him a valuable resource for business authors and aspiring thought leaders looking to bring their work to market effectively."
Tiffany Gaskell,
CEO, Performance Consultants International, Co-Author, Coaching for Performance 6th edition
Ready to talk?
The people I work with are usually clear that something needs to shift — even if they're not yet sure exactly what. That clarity tends to emerge quickly in a good conversation.
No pitch, no pressure — just an honest look at whether this is the right kind of support at the right time.
If it isn't, I'll say so.
